The Minnesota Rising 2012 Un/Conference: Leveraging Expansive Leadership for Our Minnesota will be held on Saturday, September 22, 2012 from 10:00AM – 4:30PM at DLR Group in Minneapolis, MN. Hosted by and for emerging leaders, the Un/Conference will engage emerging leaders across Minnesota in an energizing day of innovative learning and dialogue, skill-building, and network-building with their peers!

Minnesota Rising

Founded in 2009, Minnesota Rising is the network of emerging leaders in Minnesota. Minnesota Rising works to build relationships, trust, and a shared vision for the future of Minnesota, and engages emerging leaders and young professional organizations to work toward that call both now and in the future. Through Minnesota Rising’s online presence, annual Un/Conference, Minnesota Rising Council, and research, we are building the collective capacity of this generation for impacting Minnesota’s future.

2012 Theme: Leveraging Expansive Leadership for Our Minnesota

Despite a challenging economy and a contentious political environment, Millennials offer Minnesota a resilient sense of optimism and a new way of leading amidst changing norms. Through sheer numbers, we will undoubtedly have a significant influence on Minnesota's future, but in coordinated collaboration, we can further leverage the Millennial advantage to shape a Minnesota we're proud to call home.

In a culture of narrow-mindedness and partisan divisiveness, the real advantage is to not be limited by one definition of success or leadership. Through inclusiveness of all Minnesotans, and a diversity of styles and expressions of leadership, Minnesota Rising leverages the best of what currently exists in Minnesota and seeks to unleash an expansive leadership that elevates our perspectives and our communities.

Cascading Conversations Tour

The Un/Conference is one strategy that Minnesota Rising is pursuing to engage emerging leaders and young professional organizations in building relationships, trust, and a shared vision for the future of Minnesota. The Un/Conference will engage emerging leaders across Minnesota in an energizing day of innovative learning, skill-building, and relationship-building with peers. The Un/Conference will also continue a two-year statewide tour of cascading conversations to engage emerging leaders in identifying shared values and strategic intentions for impacting Minnesota’s future.
